Million Dollar Bacon

This bacon is so incredibly delicious.  It’s salty and sweet and chewy and sticky and everything you could ever want in one bite of wonderful.

The recipe is adapted from The Sweetest Occasion.  Since we had little ones at our brunch we left off the cayenne.

The bacon was a part of the bagel board that we used at our last photo shoot and was a favorite for everyone.

Million Dollar Bacon

  • Author: Lilleth adapted from The Sweetest Occasion

Ingredients

Scale

1lb thick cut bacon

6 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350° then add brown sugar, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, red pepper flake and black pepper in a mixing bowl.

Mix the sugar and spices until well combined.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then lay bacon out in a single layer.

Sprinkle the sugar and spice mixture over the bacon and pat it down, spreading it as evenly as possible.

You don’t really have to worry about coating the reverse side because as the bacon cooks, the sugary coating will run under it and coat the other side of the bacon, too.

Bake for 20 – 30 minutes, until it reaches your desired crispiness, watching to be sure the sugar doesn’t burn.

Carefully remove bacon to a baking rack to cool slightly before serving – be careful as the hot sugar can burn.
