Manarola, Cinque Terre, Italy

I adore Italy and the Cinque Terre is a must see for anyone making the trip.

Welcome to Manarola!

This stretch of the Italian Riviera is picturesque, filled with cobblestone streets, local vendors and tiny spots for meals and shopping.

Ken and I have visited several times and we always stay in tiny Manarola.  The charm, culture, the hotel, food and the atmosphere always bring us back.

We stay at the Hotel Marina Piccola in a spacious room with a lovely ocean view.  You can see our hotel in the pictures and on puzzles of Manarola. It sits in the forefront of the pictures.

Hotel Marina Piccola serves breakfast and is a wonderful spot for dinner.  They have an excellent seafood menu and serve a perfect Aperol Spritz.

Right around the corner of the hotel you will find a very charming pizza shop that makes an excellent focaccia bread at Pizzeria La Cambusa di Zampolli Matia Alfio.
You might even get treated to the lovely, local baritone like we did.

The Trattoria dal Billy has a lovely view and nice pasta and seafood options.

Manarola is home to the medieval Church of San Lorenzo dating back to the 14th Century.

The vineyard hiking in Manarolla is stunning with amazing ocean views and lovely cottages along the way as you climb.

There are several trails so make sure you do your homework and choose trails that are open.

The Cinque Terre, Via dell’Amore (Lover’s Lane) was closed during our last visit due to landslides.  It is a part of the blue hiking  trail.

I would  recommend staying overnight in Cinque Terre.  It can be quite touristy during the day, especially in peak season but at night it is mostly locals and much quieter.

You can also travel by local train to the four other lands that make up the Cinque Terre as well as water ferry which was super fun.
